■プログラム
・映像音響詩（1996） 中村滋延
題名は墓碑銘を意味する。この作品は、95年に亡くなった私の父への電子音響とビデオ映像によるレクイエムである。96年の春に父の遺品の中から生前の父の姿の映ったホームビデオを発見した。この映像を見て、あらためて父の死の悲しみがこみあげてきた。そして憑かれたように父の姿と声を素材にこの作品を作り上げた。したがって、これはきわめて個人的な作品である。1996年度国際ビデオアート賞(ドイツ)入選作品。
・スウィング・ブリッジ（1997） レイノルドﾞ･ワイデナー／アメリカ
スウィング・ブリッジはブルックリン橋を祝するヴィデオ・アート・ミュージックである。’83年5月24日、百年祭を祝うことで車道はすべて閉鎖され、橋はもちろんその近辺も、踊り手やミュージシャン、アクターたちで終日賑わい、夕べには大規模な灯りのディスプレーが輝いた。この作品はそれらの出来事がイメージされ、特徴付けられたプロセスを持ってニューヨークのOwego、E・TVセンターで制作された。作品は多様なオールド・スウィング・バンドのテープを伴うソロ・クラリネットのためのもので、音の素材は小さな音のファイルに区分けされ、SoundHackやその他のソフトを用いて加工され構成される。これはまたクラリネット奏者F・ジェラート・エランテの委嘱作品でもある。
・ラブ･オブﾞ･ライン･オブ･ライト･アンド･シャドウ:ザ･ブルックリン･ブリッジ（1982）レイノルドﾞ･ワイデナー・ニューヨーク・マンハッタンにかかるブルックリン橋の建設百年を記念して多くのイベントが催された。同時期、作者はブルックリン橋そのものに焦点を定め、様々な角度からの取材を実施し膨大な素材を収集した。この作品はそれらの素材をもとに、音と色彩のコンピュータ処理によって、幻想的で詩的な作品に仕上げられている。ビデオと電子音響を伴うクラリネット奏者のための作品で、わが国では第六回
東京ビデオフェスティバルのグランプリ受賞作品としても知られている。
・仮想空間の海』（2000）谷中優
時間と空間、それらはいつも私の作品に内在し、創作上のコア的イデアになっている。この作品は私にとって初めてのアニメーション制作の
プロセスを持ち、映像と音響のすべてにコンピュータ処理とコントロールがなされている。2’30”の映像制作に200時間を費やした。

・ビデオ・ミュージックシアター「オルフェの旅」』（1995） 丸山亮
オルフェをめぐるギリシャ神話と、それによく似た構造を持つイザナギ・イザナミの日本神話の二つを踏まえる一種のビデオ・オペラ。
恋人たちの出会い、地獄、影、の３部分からなる。旅の道程は人生、過去・現在・未来、個人の内面と外面をそれぞれ象徴するものでもある。
■作曲者紹介
・中村滋延（なかむらしげのぶ） 作曲家
1950年大阪生まれ。74～76年ドイツ政府給費生として滞独。日本音楽コンクール作曲部門に2度の入賞(71、73年)。
ガウテアムス作曲コンクールAVRO奨励賞(77年オランダ)。日本交響楽振興財団作曲賞(79年)。MUSICTODAT作曲賞(92年)。ICMC(国際コンピュータ音楽会議)モントリオール(92年)。ICMCバンフ(95年)、ICMC香港(96年)、ICMCギリシャ(97年)他、コンクール入賞入選多数。1990年代からミュージック・シアター・ピースの制作・上演に意欲的に取り組む。また映像作品にも積極的に取り組み、国際ビデオアート賞’95(ドイツ)、同’96年にも作品が入選。活発な活動を継続している。
・レイノルドﾞ･ワイデナー／アメリカ 作曲家、ビデオ・アーチスト
1945年生まれ。’65年にロバート・ムーグとともにニューヨーク・トルマンスブルクにおいて電子音楽センターを設立し電子音楽レビュー監修者となる。その後クリーブランドで同様のレコーディング制作に携わり、放送連盟のG・Szellのもと、クリーブランド・オーケストラのウィークリー・コンサートのレコーディングを行なう。’73年クリーブランド音楽研究所から音楽学士を得る。’70年代中ごろから電子イメージフィルムを伴った作品を手がけ、その作品「WAVELINESII」は15の賞を受賞。’80年にはニューヨーク大学から芸術修士を授けられ、ヴィデオを伴った作品製作を始める。現在までに６作品以上のコンサート・ビデオを制作し、それらは80を超える賞、350回以上のライブ演奏、3000回を超えるテープバージョンの上演や放送がある。’89年、それらの作品により、ニューヨーク大学から哲学博士号を授与される。またN.E.A賞をはじめ、作曲家、フルブライト、グッケンハイム等の各フェローシップを受けるなど多くの賞やグラントを獲得している。
・谷中優（たになかすぐる）音楽教育家、作曲家
1947年愛媛県生まれ。’77、’80年ｶﾞｳﾃﾞｱﾑｽ国際作曲コンクール入選・入賞（ｵﾗﾝﾀﾞ）。’80年ｼｭﾗｰﾄﾐﾝｸ市名誉賞（ｵｰｽﾄﾘｱ）、’90年第四回佐藤文化財団論文コンテスト最優秀論文賞（創造的音楽教育論）、’92、’93年佐藤文化財団研究奨励。’93年平成五年度（第一回）土屋文化振興財団賞。’94年ACL音楽祭ﾀｲﾍﾟｲ(台湾)、’95年平成七年度（第一回）ローランド芸術文化振興財団賞。ACLﾊﾞﾝｺｸ音楽祭(ﾀｲ)、’96年JSCE学術振興基金ﾖｰﾛｯﾊﾟ派遣。IBC賞（ｲｷﾞﾘｽ）､’00年未来基金2001(ﾋﾞﾙｹﾞｲﾂ基金)他多くの賞や研究奨励を受けている。1990年代から視覚的要素を加えたマルチメディア作品の制作をはじめる。また創造的音楽教育に関する理論と実践をはやくから提唱し、多くの論文・レポートを表して評価を得る。創造的音楽教育の観点からの子どものための作品や教材も多い。
・丸山亮（まるやまりょう） 作曲家、マルティメディア・アーティスト

・Epitaph (May 1996, 8 min) Shigenobu NAKAMURA
"Epitaph" was conceived as a kind of requiem made from audiovisual materials; I wanted to express with abstract
shapes my grief at the death of my father. No scenario exists in this video. As a motif, the figure of my father taken by a videio as a family record appears repeatedly. To add variation to the repetition, various abstract shapes are overlapped.
The sound part of this piece mainly consists of my father's voice and electronic sounds. The word "arigato", which
means "thank you" in japanese,is repeated throughout. Japanese saxophnist Ryo Noda played the materials of all the electronic sounds, which originate from the saxophone, and are tonally modified by the computer.
・SWING BRIDGE FOR CLARINET, AUDIO PROCESSING, COLOR VIDEO, AND DIGITAL SOUND（1997, 5:20 min）

“Swing Bridge” is a video-art-music celebration of the Brooklyn Bridge. On May 24, 1983, the span was closed to motor traffic to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Dancers, musicians, and actors performed on and around the bridge all day; that evening, there was a grand fireworks display. This work features processed images of those events, created at the Experimental Television Center, Owego, N.Y. The music is for solo clarinet with an accompaniment that draws on various old swing-band recordings. These were cut up into small soundfiles and combined and altered using SoundHack and other software. One such alteration is known as convolution, in which common frequencies are reinforced while others are suppressed. This works interestingly as a way to project a “ghost” of one piece of music onto a totally different piece of music. “Swing Bridge” was commissioned by clarinetist F. Gerard Errante.
・LOVE OF LINE,OF LIGHT AND SHADOW:THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE (10:31 min) Reynold Weidenaar
This concert video is a centennial tribute to one of America’s most beloved structures. Since its opening in 1983, the Brooklyn Bridge has been regarded as a magnificent monument to the Age of Optimism. Its union of the heavy stone architecture of the past with the spidery structural steel of the future marked the beginning of the modern age. In the years since, it has become a favorite subject of artists and photographers. The visual beauty of the bridge is complemented by the massive sonic resonance of its motor traffic. Both are major elements in Love of Line. Location recordings of bridge visuals and sounds were processed by many analog video and audio devices. In addition, a video Z-2 8-bit computer with a CAT-100 frame buffer, and an audio Fairlight CMI, were used for digital processing.The visual interplay of light and heavy materials has no sonic equivalent at the bridge?its sounds evoke the dense drone of a gigantic beehive. The clarinet part and synthesized sounds were created to provide contrasting elements. This work of homage, serenade, and celebration was commissioned by clarinetist F. Gerard Errante.
・THE SEA OF VIRTUAL SPACE (2000, 2:30 min） Suguru TANINAKA
There is a notion of Time and Space in my works, always and all of my works. It is my coｎcept from my creative working point of view. This piece has a process of animation-production that was my first experience. And also all materials (sound and visual) were controled by computer.
・Travels of Orpheus (27minutes) Ryo MARUYAMA
This is a kind of a video-opera with performance based on two similar mythologies of ''Orpeus'' in Greece and ''Izanagi-Izanami'' of Japan.It consists of three scenes: Encounter of lovers in a dream, Hell and Shadow. The itinerary of the travels symbolizes that of life, itinerary which joins the past, the present and the future, itinerary between
inside and outside of myself.These itineraries are pursued by sound, image and body movement in this
video-music theater.
■ABOUT COMPOSER
・Shigenobu Nakamura(born 1950 in Osaka/Japan)
Nakamura composes various music ranging from contemporary music to music for television dramas and events. He has written more than 100 compositionsin various genres, including 8 orchestral pieces and three symphonies.Since the late 1980s, he has enthusiastically produced and presented Music Theater works using computers, and some of his Music Theater pieces using computers were accepted and presented at the International Computer Music Conference (ICMC) in 1992, 1995, 1996, 1997, and 2001.Recently he has also produced visual works, which were accepted and presented at International Award for Video Art (Germany) in 1995 and 1996, and "l'immagine leggera" Palermo International Videoart Film and Media Festival (Italy) in 1997.In 1997 and 1998 he was artist-in-residence at the ZKM Institute for Music and Acoustics.He is presently professor in the Department of Acoustic Design at Kyushu Institute of Design.
・Reynold Weidenaar / USA composer,
Reynold Weidenaar began working with electronic music in 1965 with Robert Moog. Following a 2-year stint as recording engineer for the Cleveland Orchestra, he created a number of tape pieces in the 1970’s. In 1976 he began to produce electronic images on film, and later turned to video at the Experimental Television Center. Since 1982 he has produced 8 concert videos, scored for live musician, video, and recorded accompaniment. These have received numerous honors and awards, hundreds of live performances, and thousands of screenings in tape-alone versions. He has received Fulbright and Guggenheim fellowships in video and an NEA composer fellowship.
・Suguru TANINAKA : composer, musical educator
He was born 1947 in Ehime Japan. 1977 and 1980 his works was accepted by the jury of The International Gaudeamus Composers Competition.(Netherlands)/”Ehrenpreis der Stadgemeinde Schladming.(Austria 1980)/The most excellent paper prize Sato-Foundation. (about creative musical education 1990)/The Prize of Tsuchiya Culture Development Foundation(1993)/The Prize of Roland Arts Culture Development Foundation(1995)/The Prize of JSCE(1996)/ The Prize of IBC(England 1995-1996)/ The future-fund 2001[Bill Gates -fund](2000) etc. Also, he has many works for Ensemble,Chorus, Wind Orchestra, for Computer with or without instruments, and of course for Children. He is also performer with Computer.
